Welcome

I am going to keep up with updating this website after rather neglecting the old one (it was in need of a redesign, being around 10 years old!). The major difference between this version and the last is that it has been designed and implemented entirely by myself using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MongoDB. For the past year or so I have been learning to code, rehashing and developing skills I learned around twenty years ago when doing my ‘A’ levels. I’ve enjoyed every minute! It is satisfying to figure out a solution to a problem (sometimes after many hours), and I liken such endeavours to my piano practice: several hours can go into a seemingly small problem, but over time this develops into the mastery of a full work, or the creation of an application, if you like.

You will find a little about me in the various sections of my website, including my musical biography, concert repertoire, and teaching and research experience. I will be updating the apps section with various web and software development projects, and this blog will feature various musings and concert reviews.
